เมื่อวันที่ 19 ก.พ. ไมเคิล ยอน ได้เขียนบันทึกเรื่อง ลูกระเบิดมือเมื่อวานนี้ (Yesterday's Grenade) วิเคราะห์ว่า
“ข้อความหลั่งไหลเข้ามาเกี่ยวกับเรื่องนี้ หลายข้อความมาพร้อมกับบทวิเคราะห์ ซึ่งห่างไกลความเป็นจริง ผมไม่ค่อยมีเวลาที่จะถกเกี่ยวกับลูกระเบิดมือ แต่จะขอพูดเป็น่บางหัวข้ออย่างรวบรัด
1) อันนี้ไม่ใช่ M-79 อย่างที่หลายคนเรียก M-79 ไม่ได้เป็นลูกระเบิดมือ แต่เป็นปืนยิงลูกระเบิดมือ (ผมเคยแบกเป็นเวลา3ปี และ รู้จักเป็นอย่างดีเกี่ยวกับ M-79) ลูกระเบิดมือขนาด 40 มม. ที่ถูกยิงจาก M-79 จะระเบิดเวลาตกกระทบ นั่นหมายความว่า เมื่อโดนโล่ตำรวจ ระเบิดควรจะระเบิด แต่ในภาพในวิดีโอได้แสดงให้เห็นชัดเจนว่า มันเป็นลูกระเบิดมือแบบขว้างไม่ใช่ลูกระเบิดมือ 40 มม.
